Why Surface 26

White glove service, start to finish.

What you can expect from us

Communication

You call, text, or email a contractor and then… nothing. Radio silence. No idea if they got it, no idea when they'll get back to you, no idea what's happening with your own project, and you start to wonder if they moved to Bali. We've all been there, and it's extremely frustrating.

So here's our commitment to you: you'll hear back from us. You'll be in the loop and know exactly what's going on. No need to follow up with us. We'll be in touch.

Professionalism

Most construction trades don't have a reputation for professionalism, and stone and tile work is no exception. We understand we'll be stepping into your home to do our job, and we want to treat you and your home with the utmost respect.

Here's the test we hold ourselves to: would we do this in our grandmothers' homes? (Mimi and Mim have no idea we're using their likeness for business purposes, but they'd approve of the standard.) Drop cloths down before we start. Trash hauled out at the end of the day, not left in a pile. No cursing, no blasting music, no showing up looking like we rolled out of bed. It sounds small, but it's the standard Mimi and Mim would expect.

Specialized craftsmanship

Large format porcelain gets treated like an afterthought in this industry — just one more product to offer. We think that's backwards, and it's exactly why Surface 26 exists.

Usually you have two options: a stone fabricator who mostly does countertops and treats porcelain as a side job, or a tile installer who's great with grout and waterproofing but doesn't have the equipment to safely cut and move full porcelain panels. It looks like stone once it's installed, but it handles and installs completely differently — different equipment, more site prep, a lot more thinset, and panels that are a lot more brittle to work with.

We only do large format porcelain. Every part of how we operate — equipment, training, the way we prep a site, our systems — is built around doing this one thing right. You wouldn't see an ENT for a rolled ankle. Same idea here.

The process

What working with us looks like

We get it — you want to know what you're signing up for before you sign up. Think of this section as us taking you on a few dates before asking you to commit.

  1. You reach out

Call, text, email — whatever's easiest. We'll get back to you soon.

  2. We send you a quote

We talk through your project and send you a quote. No hard sell, no pressure. Just a clear number for the work you actually want done.

  3. Signature and deposit

Once the quote feels right, we lock it in.

  4. We nail down the details

A few more questions about the job before anything gets cut. It might feel a little tedious, but it's how we get it right the first time. Then we'll walk you through exactly what to expect before a single person shows up at your house.

  5. Demo and site prep

Our prep crew handles “out with the old” and gets your space ready for what's coming.

  6. We measure, precisely

Our measure tech doesn't eyeball it with a tape measure. We use a state-of-the-art precision tool that digitizes every measurement and builds your project digitally before a single cut happens.

  7. You approve the layout

You sign off on the veining and seam placement based on your actual digital project. Not a guess, not a “should look close enough.”

  8. We fabricate

Once you approve it, those digital measurements go straight to the saw, and your porcelain gets cut to exact spec at Surface Providers' warehouse.

  9. We install

Our crew brings it all together in your home.

Heads up: this isn't a 24-hour bath reno. These slabs are brittle, and everything has to line up perfectly for them to fit. That takes real time, not a rushed weekend. But once it's in, it's going to leave your jaw — and your neighbor's — on the floor. We won't help you pick your jaw back up, but we might ask for some pictures so we can brag about it on your behalf.

Through all of it, you'll always know what step you're on, and you'll only ever have one person to call. No getting bounced around trying to figure out who's in charge of what. When we're heading to your home, we'll lock in a day and time, remind you the day before, remind you again that morning, and show up in the window we gave you. If something pushes us back (Atlanta traffic, we're looking at you), you'll hear about it before you're left wondering where we are.

That's the whole point: we sweat the details, we follow a process that works every time, and you're never left guessing. This shouldn't be a headache. It should end with you saying, “That was easy.”
